The wedding of Chloe and Neil at Friern Manor
It was great to be asked by Chloe & Neil to be their wedding photographers for their very special day at Friern Manor.
I started the day by meeting up with Chloe, the bridal party and Mum and Dad at the family home.
The weather up until the wedding was a little wet, but on the day we really could not have asked for better weather.
The girls were all very relaxed simply enjoying the preparations with a little glass of bubbly.
I think Dad was starting to feel a tad nervous!
Even before the makeup Chloe looked amazing, but after!
Chloe and Mum went upstairs to dress allowing me to get a few images once she was decent.
We then brought Dad into the room, this is always a special moment, its the first time Dad has seen his daughter in her wedding dress.
We managed to get a few photos of the wedding party in the garden before leaving for Friern Manor
Nick (the second photographer) met up with Neil, the groomsmen and his family at the family home.
For 99% of our weddings we have two photographers, this allows us to record the groom’s preparations (even though they are a lot quicker than the bride lol), its a part of the day the bride may never see.
It also gives us a little time with the grooms men to break the ice a little as quite often the boys are not keen on posing for a few photos.
The wedding and reception was taking place at Friern Manor Country Hotel – this great hotel is set is in a great location (just off the A127 at Dunton) with some amazing grounds. The staff at Friern Manor are ALWAYS so professional, its definitely one of our favorite venues to work at.
The ceremony was taking place in the front of the house in the marquee, this is a beautiful area with bags of natural light.
As time went past I think Neil was getting a little nervous, but Chloe looked great as she walked up the aisle.
The ceremony was great with Chloe and Neil exchanging rings and then heading outside for a much needed drink to toast their marriage and a few photos in front of the house.
during the time the staff seamlessly moved the guests to the rear or the Hotel (the coaching stables) for the reception.
After a few photos in from on the Hotel we headed to meet the guests, they were being entertained by an amazing close up magician (Nick Crown), we can often see Nick at Weddings / Events, we are always amazed at both his magic, but also his interaction with the guests.
We used this time to get a few of the group and confetti photos as well as some time with the wedding party before heading in for the wedding breakfast.
Just before the bride and groom took their seats for the wedding breakfast we spent 10 minutes with them getting a few photos in the grounds of Friern Manor.
After the food and speeches we asked Chloe and Neil if they would come with us to get some photos at sunset.
The girls from the bridal party came with us and they were great sports in putting on the wellie boots we had taken with us.
We then made our way back to Friern Manor getting a few more photos in the grounds and of the cake cutting and the first dance.
At the end of this blog is a link to a short slideshow from the day(see if you can spot yourself), as well as a link to all the proof photos – but you will need that all important password from Chloe and Neil.
