Julie and Ian’s wedding at Leez Priory
It was a real pleasure to be asked by Julie and Ian to record their very special day at Leez priory.
Leez is an amazing venue, there are so many locations for a couple to get some great images no matter what the weather.
It was an early start for Julie and her bridal party, they spent the night before in the cottage by the lake and then moved into the main house for the final preparations.
This keeps them well out of the way from Ian and the groomsmen.
I used some of the empty spaces to get some images of the wedding dress and some of the accessories.
The grooms preparations are normally a little more relaxed!
Nick (the second photographer) met up with Ian and his groomsmen in another of the great cottages.
It was a little damp with a few spots of rain, but luckily this cleared pretty quickly.
The ceremony was going to take place in the tower.
Ian was starting to get a little nervous as the anticipation built.
When he turned and saw Julie for the first time he did show a little emotion, which is brilliant.
The ceremony was simple yet very personal to them both, with all their family and friends close at hand.
After the ceremony we took some of the group photos, just incase, it looked like it may rain at any moment.
But after half an hour the sun started to come out and it turned into a warm afternoon.
The wedding breakfast and speeches took place upstairs in The Great Hall.
As always the food and the service by all the staff at Leez Priory was amazing.
After the wedding breakfast we took advantage of the evening sun.
We carry some chalk boards with us, we get some of the guests to leave messages, its not until the bride and groom see the wedding photos that they can see the messages.
We also had a bit of fun with the bridal party and our wellie boots.
The evening finished for us with the cutting of the cake and the first dance of the new Husband and Wife.
