The wedding of Xenia and Dan at Leez Priory
It was really great to be asked by Xenia and Dan to record their very special day.
It was an early start on the day of the wedding as we had an early ceremony – which was great as the weather was really hot and it just happened to be the day England were playing in the world cup!
Xenia and the bridal party had stayed the night before in the Fishermans Cottage, an amazing little cottage set in the grounds close to the lake before moving to the main house for the preparations.
Leez Priory is an amazing venue, set in over 40 acres of grounds this stunning county manor house always makes an impression.
It was still quite early but the outside temperature was rising.
What better way to cool off than to have a chilled glass of bubbly.
The preparations were in full swing and some of the early guests could be heard around the grounds.
When it comes to lacing the dress it often adds a bit of pressure to one of the bridesmaids or close family member.
But we have helped a number of times so we can usually give a few pointers.
Xenia looked amazing as she put the finishing touches to her dress and the bridal party were all set to go.
Nick (the second photographer) met up with Dan and the boys at the venue.
Its a much quicker process with us boys, but even fairly early in the morning the temperature was steadily rising for what turned out to be a very hot day.
But they looked smart and kept on their suits nearly all day.
Xenia and Dan opted for an outdoor ceremony, they chose to use the shaded area under the tower for the marriage.
Its quite a walk for the wedding party from the main house to the tower, especially with all the guests turning to look at you.
Although it was very hot, there was a little breeze blowing through the arch helping to keep the bride and groom a little cooler.
After the reception drinks we went to the front of the house to get the group photos and to spend a little time with the new ‘Husband and Wife’.
Photographically there is so much choice at Leez Priory, but taking the couple away for 20 minutes or so gives them the change to have a little quality time by themselves as newly weds and allows us to capture some candid moments.
Just before the wedding breakfast we spent a little time with the wedding party, who were all great to work with – Thank You
After the food and the speeches which were in the Coach house, we had a little walk around some of the grounds in the late evening sun.
Xenia and Dan had arranged for a band to attend in the early evening, creating a great party atmosphere before the first dance.
As the weather was pretty perfect, the first dance was held outside on the lawn.
