The wedding of Faye and James at Great Hallingbury Manor
It was great to be asked by Faye and James to be their wedding photographer.
They were married at – St Michael’s Church, Bishop’s Stortford, with the reception being held at Great Hallingbury Manor.
It was our first visit to Great Hallingbury Manor for a wedding, so at the pre-wedding meeting it was great to have a walk around the grounds and see what Faye and James liked about the venue and listen to their thoughts for the day.
On the day it started with me meeting up with Faye at the family home for the bridal preparations.
The weather was pretty poor, but it was forecast to brighten up!
Faye is a bit of a Disney fan, this included some additions to her fantastic shoes.
Nick (the second photographer) met up with James and the boys at their home and then moved onto a local public house for a calming drink.
The ceremony was held in St Michael’s Church, right in the heart of Bishop’s Stortford.
It was quite a tight entrance to the church, so much so the bridal car caught the entrance post….
The weather was still not on our side, but the wedding car managed to get pretty close, which really helped.
It is a large open church with lots of light, which is great for the photography.
As we left the church, we made the most of the dry weather (just in case) and got a few of the larger group photos as well as a few of the newly married couple, before driving onto the reception.
When we arrived at Great Hallingbury Manor, the sky was clear and the sun was out, making it great!
After the wedding breakfast and speeches we had a bit of fun with the bridal party, using the coloured wellie boots we carry with us.
We wanted to get some photos of the boys, unbeknown to us, and the bride!
The boys decided to flash their bums!!!
Faye seemed suitably impressed 🙂
We wanted to make use of the grounds and the large lake, so we set up some lighting and got some photos of them under the pergola on their island.
We had a few more little showers but we did manage to play with some sparklers before the first dance as husband and wife.
At the end of this blog is a link to all the wedding day photos, but you will need that password.
There is also a link to a short slideshow of some of the photos from the day.
