The wedding of Kerry and Mick
It was fantastic to be asked by Kerry and Mick to photograph their very special day.
They were married at St Peter’s and St Paul’s Church, Horndon on the Hill, a very nice little church.
The ceremony was taken by a very close family friend,The Rev Canon Ann Easter – who is Chaplain to the Queen!
With the reception being held just down the road at The Old Rectory.
The day started with me meeting up with Kerry and the girls at home in Laindon.
Kerry had the most amazing pair of shoes, they were handpainted with their names and with a reference to Mick’s service with the London Fire Brigade.
Nick, the second photographer, met up with Mick and the boys at The Old Rectory.
A great venue that is exclusive to the couple on the day.
The ceremony was very personal as Ann Easter knew them well, which was really nice.
It was quite a dull winters afternoon, which is always a bit of a challenge as there is a limited amount of light available with the sun setting before we would arrive at the reception.
Because of their connections with the church, we were able to use the church for a short time after the ceremony.
This allowed Mick to carry his bride over his shoulder (in a firefighter’s lift) which was a little different and created a few smiles.
When we arrived at The Old Rectory it was almost dark, se we set up a few lights outside to get some of the group photos.
Well done to all the guests who braved the very cold weather.
After the wedding breakfast we braved the cold again to get a few photos outside, just as well we took our wellie boots for the bridal party.
This was followed by the first dance.
Kerry and Mick had been doing some practice and had a nice dance prepared to round off a great day.
At the end of this blog is a link to a slideshow of a few of the images from the day.
There is also a link to all the photos, but you will need the password from the Bride and Groom.
